[Stephenie Meyer] on an as-yet-untitled book she might publish next: “It’s a fantasy that takes place in another world where people are using bows and arrows and swords. There’s a little bit of magic, but it’s a very limited form of magic. The characters are human, and some have the ability to use magic and some don’t. It’s pretty dark. People die. The main character is a 17-year-old girl, and she’s kind of cool.”
Really. You’re going to go into magic now? Let me guess. Wizards are super sexy and sometimes they sparkle. It wasn’t enough to kill an entire genre, you want to move in on another?
And, “she’s kind of cool”? Really? You’re an adult woman and a “writer” and that’s the best character description that you can come up with?
I agree with this: http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2011/03/twilights-stephenie-meyer-gives-details-about-new-book.html#
It’s probably a pretty good approximation of what the book will end up being.
Pique, peek, and peak are different words. I swear they are. Yet. People never seem to use the right one.
Every time I see the wrong one, it completely crashes my train of thought and ruins whatever I’m reading.
